Position Overview
As an HVAC Installer with Airstream Services, you'll install, replace, and commission residential and light commercial HVAC systems while representing our commitment to excellence. This role combines technical expertise with customer service, requiring someone who can deliver exceptional workmanship while building positive relationships with our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Technical Work:
- Install complete HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and indoor air quality equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local codes
- Fabricate, modify, and install sheet metal ductwork, transitions, and fittings to ensure proper airflow and professional appearance
- Perform electrical connections, refrigerant line installation, and gas line connections safely and accurately
- Conduct system startups, performance testing, and commissioning to ensure optimal operation
Customer Service and Communication:
- Communicate professionally with customers, explaining system operation, maintenance requirements, and warranty information
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites throughout the installation process
- Protect customer property with drop cloths and shoe covers
- Answer customer questions and provide guidance on thermostat programming and system care
Team Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work collaboratively with installation helpers and other team members
- Complete all required documentation, including installation checklists, warranty registrations, and job notes
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices
- Maintain company vehicles and equipment in good condition
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of HVAC installation experience (residential and light commercial)
- Certifications: EPA 608 Universal Certification required
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work in attics and crawl spaces, and perform tasks in various weather conditions
- Tools: Must own standard HVAC hand tools (specialty tools and equipment provided)
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and professional appearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Lead installer experience
- Experience with high-efficiency equipment and smart home technology
- HVAC trade school education or related technical training
- Customer service experience in residential settings
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
