HVAC Internship

Job Overview:
Are you a student interested in gaining hands‑on mechanical experience in a real‑world manufacturing environment? Marvin is seeking an HVAC Technician Intern to join our team for a practical, skill‑building internship. This opportunity supports students pursuing a degree in HVAC, mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field who want to learn from experienced technicians while contributing to the reliability and comfort of our facilities.
As an intern, you’ll assist with HVAC, boiler, and condensate system maintenance while working alongside skilled tradespeople. This role offers exposure to troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and safe work practices in an active manufacturing setting.
This internship takes place in Warroad, Minnesota and provides valuable experience supporting industrial HVAC systems in a safety‑focused environment.

Housing Provided

To support students relocating for the internship, company‑provided housing is available for the duration of the program. This allows interns to focus on learning, developing technical skills, and gaining hands‑on experience without the burden of securing short‑term housing.

Highlights of your role:
  • Assist with preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure systems operate safely and within specifications
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of HVAC systems, components, and controls alongside experienced technicians
  • Learn proper handling of tools, equipment, and refrigeration best practices under supervision
  • Help document work performed and support recordkeeping in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Assist with basic inventory transactions related to maintenance work
  • Collaborate with maintenance teammates and cross‑functional partners
  • Practice safe work habits and maintain clean, organized work areas at all times

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can):
  • Learn to read basic schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders
  • Follow safety protocols and instructions in an industrial environment
  • Work at elevated heights using ladders or platforms when trained and supervised
  • Adapt to changing priorities and hands‑on tasks
  • Communicate clearly and work well as part of a team

Also want to make sure you have:
  • A high school diploma or GED (required)
  • Currently enrolled in or pursuing a degree in HVAC, mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field
  • An interest in HVAC systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and skilled trades
  • Willingness to learn technical concepts such as system controls, wiring, and preventive maintenance
  • Attention to detail, dependability, and a desire to learn in a safety‑focused environment
