HVAC Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

The HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal functionality, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on HVAC systems and related equipment (AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV systems, split units, exhaust fans, etc.).
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues in HVAC systems.
• Conduct routine inspections, filter replacements, coil cleaning, lubrication, and refrigerant charging.
• Identify and repair refrigerant leaks, replace defective components, and calibrate controls.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and equipment performance reports.
• Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new HVAC equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and service requests promptly.
• Coordinate with other maintenance technicians and contractors as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma / Technical Certificate in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical, or equivalent.
• Proven work experience (5–10 years) as an HVAC maintenance technician.
• Knowledge of HVAC electrical and mechanical systems, refrigerants, and controls.
• Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Valid HVAC technician license/certification (if required by local regulations).
