Job Title: HVAC Operator
Job Summary:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for installation, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of HVAC systems, including chiller plants, to ensure efficient and uninterrupted cooling and ventilation services. The role requires hands-on technical expertise to maintain system performance, safety, and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
- Operate and maintain chiller plants, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, and associated equipment.
- Diagnose HVAC system faults and carry out corrective actions promptly.
- Monitor system performance to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance with standards.
- Maintain logs and records of maintenance activities and system performance.
- Coordinate with supervisors and external service providers for specialized repairs.
- Ensure adherence to safety practices and statutory regulations.
- Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC equipment when required.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Certifications:
- Certification in HVAC / Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (preferred).
- Safety or chiller plant operation certifications will be an added advantage.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Technician.
- Hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance and chiller plant operations is mandatory.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chiller plants, and refrigeration cycles.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment effectively.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and tools.
- Understanding of safety standards and energy efficiency practices.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
