Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC-R systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing components, and related mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuits and mechanical components effectively.
- Diagnose complex system problems using mechanical knowledge and technical expertise; recommend appropriate repairs or upgrades.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and reports documenting all activities performed on equipment.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and other building mechanical infrastructure as needed.
- Operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle safely to reach job sites promptly while adhering to all transportation regulations.
- Support team efforts in welding tasks, boiler maintenance, or appliance repair projects when required.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC-R systems within commercial settings.
- Strong background in construction practices related to HVAC installation and repair projects.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing systems, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing equipment repair, welding skills, boiler operation & maintenance, and property upkeep.
- Field service experience working directly with clients on-site to diagnose issues and perform repairs efficiently.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters confidently; experience with HVAC/R electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with appliance repair or property maintenance is a plus; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
