This position serves as a working supervisor responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial facilities. The Lead performs the same hands-on technical work as team members for most of the workday while providing day-to-day direction, coordinating workflow, and supporting safe and efficient operations. This role requires strong HVAC technical expertise, problem-solving ability, leadership skills, and a commitment to high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
TECHNICAL WORK – 75%

Installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) for commercial facilities.

Inspects HVAC systems to identify issues such as leaks, clogs, and faulty components.

Troubleshoots HVAC system problems, including diagnosing issues with electrical connections, thermostats, motors, and refrigerant levels.

Performs routine maintenance such as cleaning, replacing filters, and checking system performance to ensure efficiency.

Installs ductwork, refrigerant lines, thermostats, and related equipment according to safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.

Maintains accurate service records, documenting all work completed, including repairs, installations, and parts used.

Provides estimates for repair costs, system upgrades, or new installations to customers.

Explains maintenance procedures, system operations, and repair needs to customers in clear, understandable terms.

Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations, including local and federal codes, as well as manufacturer guidelines.

Collaborates with team members and supervisors to complete complex installations and repairs in a timely manner.
LEADERSHIP – 25%

Leads a team of HVAC technicians, ensuring they perform their duties according to company standards and safety regulations.

Monitors team performance to ensure work is completed efficiently and within budget.

May serve as a liaison for location management to contact outside AC vendor to complete work depending on availability and expertise of the internal team.

Ensures compliance with safety codes, regulations, and industry standards, including OSHA and local building codes, to ensure a safe work environment for all team members.

Provides hands-on guidance and technical support to technicians in troubleshooting, installations, repairs, and system maintenance.

Inspects completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to company policies.

Reviews and approves service reports, work orders, and estimates, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to clients.

Ensures proper documentation of all work performed, including service records, jobs being referred externally, maintenance logs, and safety inspections.

Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations, including local and federal codes, as well as manufacturer guidelines.

MINIMUM Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Certification/License

EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required

Valid state driver’s license in good standing required
Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience working in commercial HVAC required

1 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.

Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing, training, and mentoring a team.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.).

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Work CONDITIONS

Exposure to various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity.

Work may be required in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in attics or basements.

Use of safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, and protective footwear.

Must be comfortable working with high-voltage electrical systems and potentially hazardous materials such as refrigerants.

Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on workload and emergency service needs.

On-call rotation may be part of the position.

May support multiple parks or sites requiring local travel
