Set Pay Rate: 29.90 per hour

SHIFT: 7:30am-4:00pm

Job Summary:
Responsible for diagnosing and resolving HVAC issues. Position requires strong interpersonal skills and compassion, and respect for persons.

Essential Functions:
Diagnose and resolve plumbing related issues.

General knowledge and back up of Plumbing skills

Respond to emergency service calls promptly.

Read blueprint, building plans and schematics as required.

Use a variety of power tools hand tools and measuring devices/meters to perform job function.

Perform preventive maintenance on various types plumbing equipment.

Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification, or installation of equipment.

Monitor, identify and respond promptly to malfunctioning of equipment.

Ensures contract performance in accordance with the direction and policies of Chimes DC

Performs quality work in accordance with safety procedures.

Comply with priorities for the flow of work

Use technology for the completion of specified job duties

Use and care for equipment properly following all safety requirements

Attend work regularly according to assigned work schedule

Wear ID badge(s) at all times while performing work under this contract.

Follow instructions

Attend and participate in all meetings and activities to facilitate professional development

Work cooperatively with others in a positive, enthusiastic, respectful, and courteous manner

Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications

Pass and comply with rules for the site, security and safety guidelines, and Chimes District of Columbia Rules for the Workplace, and ensure others do the same

Assist as needed during Snow removal

Physical Abilities Needed to Meet Work Demands:
Work requires good dexterity and physical condition.

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time

Ability to work in confined spaces

Ability to go up and down stairs

Ability to get into and out of truck

Ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, stoop

Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 75 lbs. regularly as needed

Ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions

Ability to see details on the floor, above the head, or on surfaces

Other requirements:
Valid driver’s license from state of residence and ability to drive

License must have been valid for at least 3 years

Acceptable driving record as determined by Agency’s insurance carrier and by Chimes DC policies and procedure

Secret Clearance required and maintained

US Citizenship required

Essential Personnel:
This position is designated as essential. This means that when the facility is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in this position may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the facility

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Formal training as a HVAC Technician

Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in HVAC Field

Extremely high level of attention to detail.

Ability to perform quality work while following safety procedures

Must be knowledgeable of and able to apply all local, state, and federal codes

Must be able to read a blueprint

Must be able to work OT if and when needed
