HVAC Technician II
Summit Skilled Solutions is currently hiring an experienced HVAC Technician II for an industrial/commercial facility in the Warren, Ohio area. This role is ideal for a skilled HVAC professional with strong troubleshooting abilities and experience servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 1st Shift
- On-call rotation required for after-hours emergency service
Pay
- $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
- Compensation based on experience and qualifications
Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Air Conditioning Units (ACUs)
- Heat pumps
- VAV systems
- DDC controls
- Ventilation systems
- Monitor and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment, and service gauges
- Braze refrigerant piping and lubricate motors, fans, and mechanical linkages
- Analyze HVAC system malfunctions and determine root causes
- Maintain accurate service records, operating logs, refrigerant logs, and preventative maintenance documentation
- Inspect and maintain filters, belts, coils, and spare parts inventory
- Assist with repairs and maintenance of facility equipment and building systems
- Recommend system improvements and preventative maintenance enhancements
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Follow OSHA safety standards and complete job hazard analyses prior to maintenance activities
Preferred Experience
- Experience maintaining chillers and boilers
- Experience servicing kitchen equipment
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and preventative maintenance scheduling
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2-year HVAC technical certification or state-approved HVAC license required
- EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience working on industrial and commercial HVAC systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, sequence of operations, and technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of HVACR equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Knowledge of refrigerant systems and best practices
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced industrial environment
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
