HVAC Technician

RQ Construction is a full-service Design-Build company, headquartered in Carlsbad, CA, with secondary support operations located in Jacksonville, FL. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We currently have a backlog of work of $1B in CA, WA, VA, NC, SC, FL and also Guantanamo Cuba and Puerto Rico. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.


We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our team for large-scale government renovations and ground-up construction projects at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in Georgia. This is a hands-on role focused on temperature control, HVAC equipment start-up, and supporting the commissioning process for complex mechanical systems. The ideal candidate is experienced in field work, understands the critical nature of government and military standards, and thrives in high-performance construction environments.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform HVAC start-up and temperature control procedures on mechanical systems




  • Support the commissioning process to verify proper installation and functionality




  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to meet project timelines and specifications




  • Work under the guidance of the Senior Start-Up Technician and maintain accurate documentation




Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED preferred; HVAC trade school certificate or equivalent may qualify




  • 4+ years of HVAC field or trade experience, with emphasis on maintenance and service; experience on government, military, or large commercial projects preferred




  • EPA 608 (Universal), factory start-up certifications preferred




  • CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 10 required (can be provided upon hire)
