RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
HVAC System Maintenance
- Perform regular maintenance and repair of HVAC systems and tunnel ventilation equipment as per manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct cleaning, filter replacement, leak checks, and ventilation duct inspections to ensure systems are operating efficiently.
- Replace worn-out or damaged parts during routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance tools and equipment are in good working order.
- Oversee and guide service providers to ensure adherence to the Preventative Maintenance (PM) plan.
Troubleshooting & Repair
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions, identifying faulty components such as motors, compressors, and fans.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns by repairing or replacing defective components.
- Support the rehabilitation of existing railway assets to enhance their lifespan and safety.
- Perform installations, inspections, tests, and repairs as required to maintain system functionality.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with operations, maintenance teams, and technicians to ensure smooth execution of maintenance activities and projects.
- Supervise contractors and external service providers during specialized maintenance tasks to ensure quality and safety standards.
System Testing
- Conduct system performance tests and make necessary adjustments for optimal efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Calibrate HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance in airflow, temperature, and pressure settings.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs performed.
- Keep daily logs of maintenance functions and prepare detailed reports on system conditions, with recommendations for future maintenance or upgrades.
- Support the creation of reports for ongoing infrastructure evaluations and planning.
Field Surveys and Assessments
- Assist in conducting field surveys and assessments for engineering studies and project planning.
- Provide insights into the current condition of infrastructure for the planning of future projects.
Safety
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Participate in safety audits and contribute to the development of safety protocols for civil maintenance tasks.
- Maintain a strong awareness of health and safety guidelines, applying them to all tasks to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Maximo
- Utilize the Maximo system to log, track, and monitor all maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all maintenance requests and issues are recorded in Maximo in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain up-to-date records of completed maintenance activities in Maximo to ensure seamless tracking of tasks and system status.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Certification in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or related field is a plus.
- Ability to write technical reports clearly and effectively.
- Must possess good eyesight and normal color vision.
Knowledge:
- General knowledge of maintenance processes, HVAC systems, and mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of tools, devices, and appliances commonly used in HVAC maintenance.
- Basic understanding of Maximo or other Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in HVAC maintenance or a related field.
- Previous experience in site supervision is essential.
- Experience in the railway industry is an asset.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, specifically with HVAC systems.
