Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine HVAC Technician to join our marine service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems on board vessels, offshore platforms, and in dry docks. You must be comfortable working in challenging marine environments and possess specific knowledge of marine-grade cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on marine air conditioning systems (AHUs, chillers, package units) and provision refrigeration plants.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and control panels.
  • Overhauling: Execute major overhauls of screw, reciprocating, and scroll compressors (e.g., Carrier, York, Daikin, Bitzer).
  • Installation: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new HVAC/R units and modification of existing systems according to technical drawings.
  • Gas Handling: Perform leak detection, evacuation, and refrigerant charging (Freon recovery) in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Fabrication: Fabricate and install ductwork, insulation, and piping (copper/steel) as required for system repairs.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate service logs, spare parts inventory, and service reports for vessel superintendents and management.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to maritime safety standards (HSE), vessel safety protocols, and KSA industrial safety regulations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC/R certification, or ITI/Trade Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience specifically in the Marine or Offshore sector.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of marine water-cooled condensers and seawater cooling pumps.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical wiring diagrams and piping schematics.
  • Experience with cold rooms, freezer rooms, and galley refrigeration equipment.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in high-heat environments typical of the KSA region.
  • Communication: Good command of English (technical reading and writing); Arabic is a plus.
