Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), and related mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as drainage, piping connections, and water supply adjustments.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for repairs requiring metal fabrication.
- Diagnose system malfunctions using mechanical knowledge and field service techniques; repair or replace faulty components efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle safely while transporting tools or equipment to job sites.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks including appliance repair, general mechanical repairs, and system upgrades as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols during service calls involving refrigerants like ammonia or other hazardous materials; adhere to environmental regulations.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems—including air conditioning, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, and ventilation—enabling precise troubleshooting and repairs.
- Strong understanding of schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design principles to facilitate accurate diagnostics.
- Proven experience in construction environments or property maintenance roles with a focus on mechanical systems.
- Skilled in plumbing work related to HVAC installations or repairs; familiar with pipe fitting and drainage systems.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with experience operating diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; capable of performing equipment repair with precision.
- Field service experience working directly on-site with clients; excellent problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Ability to operate welding equipment safely for metal repairs or fabrication tasks.
- Familiarity with appliance repair procedures relevant to HVAC-related devices.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems including component replacement and refrigerant handling procedures—especially ammonia-based systems.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s license with a clean driving record for safe transportation between job sites. Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
