HVAC Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), and plumbing fixtures.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
• Conduct field service operations on various equipment such as appliances, boilers, and refrigeration systems while ensuring safety standards are met.
• Perform equipment repair using tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools; carry out maintenance tasks to prevent future failures.
• Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to ensure optimal operation across facilities.
• Operate vehicles such as drivers' license-equipped trucks for transportation of parts or equipment as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC systems; plumbing experience is highly valued.
• Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical components.
• Ability to read technical manuals and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in equipment repair; proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate service trucks safely.
• Familiarity with safety protocols related to HVAC/R work environments including boiler operation and ammonia refrigeration handling.
• Strong problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communication abilities

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
