Job Title: HVAC Technician

Location: Labour Accommodation / Staff Camp - Western region Abu Dhabi

Reports to: Camp Supervisor / Facilities Manager

Department: Facilities & Maintenance

1. Job Purpose

Maintain, repair, and ensure 24/7 operation of all HVAC systems in the labour camp to provide safe, comfortable living conditions for 500-3000 residents in UAE climate. Prevent breakdowns that lead to resident complaints and RTA/municipality violations.

2. Key Responsibilities

Preventive MaintenanceConduct daily checks on AC units, chillers, AHUs, exhaust fans in rooms, kitchens, toilets, officesClean and replace AC filters every 2 weeks – critical in UAE dust/sandService split units, package units, central AC systems monthly per PM scheduleCheck refrigerant levels, clean condenser/evaporator coils, test capacitors and compressorsBreakdown RepairRespond to AC complaints within 2 hours. No AC in UAE = urgentDiagnose and repair faults: gas leak, compressor failure, fan motor, thermostat, electrical issuesReplace damaged parts: contactors, capacitors, thermostats, motors, fan bladesHandle emergency callouts for water leakage, no cooling, electrical tripInstallation & CommissioningInstall new split units, ducting, exhaust systems in rooms and common areasAssist with AC load calculations when adding new rooms/bedsTest and commission systems after installationCompliance & SafetyFollow UAE Civil Defence and Municipality safety standardsMaintain logbooks for all AC units: service date, parts replaced, technician nameEnsure electrical safety: proper earthing, MCCB/RCCB function, no loose wiringHandle refrigerant safely per EPA guidelines. No venting to atmosphereInventory & ReportingMaintain spare parts inventory: filters, capacitors, contactors, gas, motorsReport major failures and recommend replacements to supervisorSubmit daily/weekly maintenance reports with completed tasks

3. Requirements

Experience & Skills2+ years as HVAC technician, preferably in labour camps, hotels, or facilitiesHands-on with split units, package units, window AC, chillers, ductingAble to read electrical diagrams and use multimeter, manifold gauge, vacuum pumpBasic knowledge of duct cleaning, water drainage, insulationAbility to work under pressure during summer peak season

Qualifications

ITI/Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent

Preferred for multi-camp sites

Gas handling certification is a plus

Physical Requirements

Able to work at heights, lift 25kg, work in confined spacesWilling to work shifts, weekends, and on-call for emergencies

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
