Job Purpose:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance of HVAC systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The role ensures controlled environmental conditions in accordance with cGMP, regulatory requirements, with strong focus on BMS monitoring and control.
Key Responsibilities:
HVAC Operations & Maintenance:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot AHUs, FCUs, MAUs, exhaust systems, chillers, cooling towers, and dehumidifiers.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as per SOPs and maintenance plans.
- Ensure temperature, humidity, pressure differentials meet GMP and URS requirements.
- Respond to HVAC alarms and breakdowns promptly.
BMS Responsibilities:
- Monitor HVAC systems via BMS (Siemens Desigo CC, Honeywell, Schneider, or equivalent).
- Acknowledge and respond to alarms and trends.
- Support point-to-point checks, loop checks, and requalification.
- Coordinate with BMS engineers for troubleshooting.
GMP & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, WHO, EU GMP, FDA requirements.
- Support HVAC qualification and requalification activities.
- Maintain logbooks, checklists, deviations, and change controls.
- Follow ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering.
- 3–5 years experience in pharmaceutical or cleanroom HVAC.
