This HVAC/Control Technician maintains electrical controls and electronic and pneumatic instrumentation for HVAC systems throughout campus facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience or training in the installation or maintenance of pneumatic, electrical, or electronic control systems for heating (including boiler), ventilating, or air conditioning systems.

Job Duties and Other Information


Job Duties:

  • Maintains preventive maintenance records. Upload data to the New Facility Management Software system for HVAC and other trades. Operates energy management systems by assisting HVAC Foreman in energy management. Works closely with HVAC Control Contractors and communicates as needed to update energy management programs; resolves issues with the energy management program as needed. Follow up with the HVAC Foreman regarding all issues, makes recommendation as needed.

  • Operates computerized equipment monitoring systems and assist in maintaining historical records of all HVAC equipment. Logs chillers, boilers and equipment data into computer. Creates automated holiday and campus closure schedule to ensure the campus continuously get the correct amount flow into buildings assigned this unit.
  • Install miscellaneous parts and controls as requires; performs air balancing as required to achieve desired comfort level for buildings assigned this unit; periodically verifies that the performance of the HVAC systems remains within established parameters through a continuously controller and monitored operation.
  • Assist with training as needed for new HVAC staff. Responsible for training HVAC staff on new programs installed on work iPads for HVAC staff as it becomes available for updates. Receives and review work order assigned specifically to the HVAC unit.
  • Prepares requisitions as needed and all additional duties assigned by the HVAC Foreman.

Compensation: The starting salary is $ 21.05/hour.

Work Location: This position is located at the Physical Plant
