Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC/R – Commercial Kitchen Appliance Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration units and kitchen equipment, including walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, ovens, fryers, grills, steamers, etc.

You will work independently in the field, provide excellent customer service, and ensure equipment is repaired efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair commercial refrigeration equipment (reach-ins, walk-ins, under-counter units, ice machines, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and service commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, ranges, dish machines, etc.)
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and equipment testing
  • Detect refrigerant leaks, replace components, and recharge systems
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Document service work, parts usage, and recommendations
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working order
  • Follow all safety and EPA guidelines and company procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years experience in commercial HVAC/R or commercial kitchen equipment repair
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repair
  • EPA 608 Certification
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying environments (hot kitchens, cold walk-ins, tight spaces)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer-service and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Manufacturer certifications for major commercial kitchen equipment brands (Hoshizaki, True, Vulcan, Rational, etc.)
  • Experience with gas cooking equipment repair
  • HVAC trade school or equivalent technical training
  • Experience with hot-side & cold-side equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
