Summary:
The Hybrid Driver is responsible for the safe and professional transport, assembly, and delivery of customer products using a company vehicle. This role combines expert-level delivery execution with leadership responsibilities, including training, field audits, and handling complex delivery scenarios. Hybrid Drivers are held to a higher standard of performance and professionalism, ensuring white glove service and acting as an extension of management in the field.
Job Responsibilities:

Safely operate a company box truck, performing pre-trip inspections and reporting safety concerns promptly.

Maintain a valid chauffeur’s license and DOT medical card in good standing.

Load and secure delivery trucks according to the manifest to prevent damage during transport.

Assemble furniture efficiently and without damage, using appropriate tools.

Lift and move furniture and mattresses safely, with or without assistance, from dock to truck and into customer homes.

Use mobile applications to document deliveries accurately, including codes, photos, and notes (never while driving).

Follow invoice instructions and company procedures for returns, including the Return Mattress Policy.

Deliver products with professionalism and respect, ensuring no damage to customer property and reporting issues immediately.

Maintain a clean and organized truck cab.

Provide superior customer service during all customer interactions, especially during white glove deliveries.

Assist in training newly hired drivers and helpers, and verify safe driving habits.

Handle special circumstance deliveries, including source customer orders.

Conduct field audits, weekly truck inspections, and uniform checks.

Provide guidance to delivery team members to ensure safe, productive, and efficient delivery operations.

Properly follow the Return Mattress Policy.

Other duties/projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a warehouse and dock environment and operating a delivery truck / vehicle during deliveries. This role routinely uses tools to aid in furniture assembly. On the dock, the temperature varies by the season and the area is not well insulated due to all the dock doors being opened during load out. Subject to working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
The employee must safely operate a company vehicle. They are occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 150 pounds or move with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Requirements:
Qualifications needed to perform this position:

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum age: 18 years.

Valid chauffeur’s license and ability to operate a box truck.

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Minimum 2 years of in-home furniture delivery experience.

Strong customer service skills and professional appearance in company uniform.

Ability to follow instructions, remain alert, and work effectively in all weather conditions.

Prior experience in commercial driving preferred.

Dependability, punctuality, and flexibility to meet business needs.

This is a full-time position and shifts may vary based on the needs of the business and includes:

Frequent lifting/moving of items up to 150 lbs.

Work occurs in warehouse, dock, and outdoor environments with seasonal temperature variations.
