Engineering Components Design Engineer (3-5 years experience)Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
- Work on designing mechanical or structural components for a variety of engineering applications, using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
- Conceptualize, design, and prototype components, ensuring that they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and select materials, components, and systems based on project requirements.
- Prototyping and Testing:
- Oversee the creation of prototypes, coordinate testing, and analyze results to validate the functionality of designs.
- Ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness, keeping an eye on material properties and assembly processes.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other engineers (mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing) to ensure integrated system designs.
- Communicate and collaborate with clients or internal teams to refine and adjust designs based on feedback.
- Technical Documentation:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation such as specifications, drawings, and reports for designs and processes.
- Update or revise design documents in response to feedback or engineering changes.
- Problem Solving:
- Provide technical support for manufacturing or assembly issues, offering solutions to challenges that arise in the design or production process.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and suggest improvements to design processes, methods, or systems based on experiences and lessons learned from previous projects.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards, new materials, and technologies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design or engineering components, ideally in sectors like automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, or industrial machinery.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, etc.) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., FEA analysis software).
- Understanding of Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods (casting, forging, CNC machining, injection molding, etc.).
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during the design and manufacturing phases.
- Education: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both engineering teams and non-engineering stakeholders.
