Hydraulic Laboratory Principal Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Manage the preparation of commercial proposals, defining scope, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
• Serve as the primary client interface, ensuring clear communication, swift issue resolution, and protection of client interests.
• Coordinate with technical and operations teams to schedule and configure equipment for 2D and 3D model tests.
• Oversee test execution, track progress against milestones and budgets, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Review and approve instrumentation layouts, data acquisition protocols, and analysis methodologies.
• Analyze test data to identify anomalies, verify integrity, and confirm reproducibility.
• Authorize draft and final project reports, certifying that conclusions are fully supported by the data.
• Enforce health, safety, and quality assurance procedures across all testing activities.
• Line-manage and mentor senior and graduate engineers, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
• Represent NMDC at conferences and workshops, presenting findings and sharing best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Civil, Coastal, or Maritime Engineering, Physics, or Oceanography is required, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 12 years’ experience in Engineering and Design within related industries, including at least 5 years in a Physical Modelling Hydraulic Laboratory.
