The Hydrogeologist 3 is responsible for managing the cleanup of contaminated sites in Miami-Dade County, conducting technical reviews of Site Rehabilitation Reports, which require hydrogeological data evaluation and interpretation, in accordance with Chapter 62-780, Florida Administrative Code, and Chapter 24 of the Miami-Dade County Code. This role provides stakeholders, including property owners, with technical review that offers guidance on cleanup requirements necessary to achieve site rehabilitation, including requirements for development at contaminated sites.
Additional responsibilities include administering funding from the Inland Protection Trust Fund by developing and implementing scopes of work, processing change orders, and reviewing purchase order invoices submitted by the FDEP Agency Term Contractors for payment of cleanup work. Additional duties entail completing performance evaluations of the Agency Term Contractor’s work to ensure compliance with FDEP cleanup contract rules and regulations, and conducting site inspections to verify site conditions and the reported status of the cleanup process by the Agency Term Contractors. Incumbents in this position are also responsible for conducting meetings with stakeholders, including environmental technicians and drillers, to discuss onsite fieldwork logistics.
