Hydrotest Expert Field / Application Engineer

Job Title: Hydrotest Expert / Field Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Analysis & Blueprint Reading: Expert ability to read and interpret complex piping schematics (Piping Isometrics & P&ID), identify strategic Isolation Points, and understand all critical elements and crucial aspects to ensure the success of hydrotesting operations.
  • Technical Liaison: Translate site requirements and pipeline conditions into clear technical data, accurately explaining the actual field needs to our design engineers to perfectly fulfill client requirements.
  • Field Execution & Supervision: Safely execute or directly supervise hydrostatic pressure tests (Hydrotesting) at client sites, ensuring the strict application of all correct and safe testing procedures.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all testing procedures fully comply with international engineering codes and strict client requirements (whether dealing with local contractors or major corporations).
  • Problem Solving: Address field challenges and piping anomalies, guiding the client toward the most optimal and safe solutions for executing the test.

Qualifications, Experience, & Certifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Piping Engineering.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of proven field experience in Piping Construction or Pre-commissioning, with a deep focus on pressure testing and comprehensive knowledge of its precise details, requirements, and best practices.
  • Technical Certifications (Essential):
  • Certified Piping Inspector (API 570) or equivalent (e.g., CSWIP Plant Inspector).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and certified training in design and testing codes (ASME B31.3 and ASME PCC-2).
  • Competency certificates in Safe Pressure Testing from recognized third-party authorities.
  • Safety Certifications: Holds occupational safety accreditations (NEBOSH or OSHA) and is highly familiar with field Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional technical communication, strong persuasion skills for interacting with client engineers, and the ability to perform efficiently under pressure in field environments.
