Job Title: Hygiene Officer – Food & Beverage
Department: Food Safety & Hygiene
Job Purpose:
To ensure all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards are implemented and maintained across all F&B operations in compliance with local regulations and company policies. The Hygiene Officer oversees daily hygiene practices, conducts inspections, provides training, and ensures a safe and hygienic environment for food production and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and enforce compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, ISO, local municipality requirements).
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas, storage rooms, receiving areas, and service points.
- Ensure all staff adhere to proper personal hygiene and food handling practices.
- Maintain and update all hygiene-related documentation, checklists, logs, and reports.
- Prepare inspection reports and corrective action plans.
- Ensure proper documentation for temperature logs, cleaning schedules, pest control, and waste management.
- Conduct hygiene and food safety training for all F&B staff.
- Provide guidance on best practices in sanitation, cross-contamination prevention, and personal hygiene.
- Assist in onboarding new employees with hygiene orientation.
- Verify the effectiveness of cleaning processes and chemical usage.
- Ensure the availability and correct use of cleaning materials and PPE.
- Monitor dishwashing, waste disposal, and deep-cleaning schedules.
- Coordinate with pest control service providers.
- Ensure proper monitoring, documentation, and follow-up of pest control activities.
- Assist in internal and external audits.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures identified during audits.
- Monitor staff health cards and ensure timely renewals.
- Report any incidents related to hygiene or food safety to management immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Nutrition, or related field (preferred).
- Certification in HACCP / Food Safety Level 3 or above (mandatory).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in F&B hygiene or food safety.
- Strong knowledge of local food safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail and strong observation skills.
