Summary:

The Hyperbaric Clinical Specialist is responsible for providing hyperbaric and clinical care wound services within the Catholic Health Advanced Wound Healing Centers under the direction of the Medical Director or other provider. Responsible for planning and implementing Hyperbaric /Wound Care Plans and ongoing patient re-assessment during the course of treatment. The Hyperbaric Clinical Specialist functions in the role of a professional Clinical Nurse for Advanced Wound Healing Services and acts as a Certified Hyperbaric Technician to oversee the clinical and day to day operations of the hyperbaric program. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within hyperbaric medicine and with hyperbaric medicine's customers. May serve as the site hyperbaric safety director designee. Maintains environmental and infection control standards. Adheres to departmental safety policies and regulations. Sets priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital/staff.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BS in Nursing-required
  • Maintains a current New York State Professional RN License
  • BLS required
  • CHT or must obtain CHT certificate within 1 year of placement into this position



EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum three (3) years clinical experience
  • Hyperbaric experience required
  • Relevant/current experience preferred in Wound Care patient setting


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Knowledge of current technology and products used in the treatment of wounds
    • Knowledge of Department of Health regulations
    • Ability to travel between multiple Wound Care sites
    • Capable of assisting and utilizing lift/transfer equipment
    • Able to hear patients and staff. Including listening to equipment to detect malfunctions.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Organizational skills and Leadership ability
    • Ability to supervise, provide direction and motivate workforce
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment in executing responsibilities
    WORKING CONDITIONS:


    • Able to work well in stressful situations and conditions of frequent interruption
