Job Title: MYD/DP Mathematics Teacher

Start Date: August 15, 2026 (for the 2026-2027 school year)

Reports to: Middle School Principal and High School Principal

Overview:

Le Lycée Français de San Francisco seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking
Mathematics teacher to join our Secondary School team for the 2026-2027 School Year. You will
teach in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP): specifically the IB
mathematics courses Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretations. You will help
foster a passion for mathematics in students aged approximately 11-18, leveraging inquiry-based,
concept-driven learning, and developing inclusive, differentiated experiences in a diverse
international school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality mathematics instruction in MYP and DP (AA and
AI) that aligns with the IB framework, U.S. standards, and the school’s mission.
  • Design units and lessons that promote conceptual understanding, mathematical
reasoning, problem-solving, and real-world application of mathematics.
  • Use assessment data (formative and summative) to inform instruction, give timely and
constructive feedback, and support student agency and growth.
  • Apply inclusive instructional practices (such as Universal Design for Learning and
differentiated instruction) to meet the needs of a diverse learner population.
  • Embed opportunities for student reflection, metacognition, and self-regulation of
learning.
  • Work collaboratively with the Mathematics department and cross-disciplinary teams to
co-plan, align curriculum vertically/horizontally, and share best practices.
  • Engage with the broader school community — students, parents/guardians, colleagues,
and administrators — to foster positive relationships and a culture of belonging.
  • Actively contribute to the life of the school: student advising, extra-curricular activities,
Open Houses, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and communications, and stay
current with IB mathematics developments and best practices.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful secondary school mathematics teaching experience; IB
MYP and/or DP experience strongly preferred. IB Examiners are highly encouraged to
apply.
  • Strong understanding of, or willingness to engage with, the philosophy, structure and
assessment practices of the IB programmes (MYP & DP).
  • Experience teaching students aged 11-18 or willingness to develop proficiency across this
age range.
  • High level of English proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrated capacity to plan, deliver, assess and reflect on curriculum and instruction,
with a focus on student engagement, agency, and growth.
  • Experience using inclusive instructional strategies (differentiation, scaffolding, UDL) and
caring for diverse learners.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills; reliable, collaborative,
enthusiastic and committed to contributing positively to a school culture.
  • Commitment to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, global-mindedness and the IB

Learner Profile.

Why Join Us?

  • Join a vibrant, multilingual, multicultural international school community committed to
academic excellence, global citizenship and personal growth.
  • Be part of a committed and collegial faculty team, where collaboration and professional
growth are priorities.
  • Supportive environment with professional development opportunities, including IB
workshops, department planning time, and mentorship.
  • The chance to work in a school that values diversity and seeks faculty that reflect our
student body and community.

To Apply:
Please submit a cover letter detailing your philosophy of mathematics education and your
experience with IB (if any), a current résumé, and the names of at least three professional
references. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The school is an equal-opportunity

16 weeks of paid vacation accrued the first year, long-term disability and retirement
benefits.

annual salary, ranging from: $78,628 for 18 hours of teaching per week to $81,854 (Teaching
Scale 1) in the current salary grid. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be
