The role of a Technical Lead on an IBM Sterling migration project focuses on managing a specific function of the team, such as development, quality assurance, or data migration. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership and project coordination skills.
Responsibilities:
- Project Execution: Oversee and execute the team's assigned tasks, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
- Team Coordination: Lead and mentor a team of specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of tasks.
- Technical Oversight: Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshoot complex issues that arise during development, testing, and migration.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for team-related activities, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and issues.
- Process Improvement: Enforce best practices, ensure adherence to coding standards, and proactively identify opportunities to improve team efficiency and processes.
- Documentation & Reporting: Review and maintain project documentation, including technical specifications and progress reports.
- Testing & Quality: Coordinate testing activities, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure the new system is reliable and bug-free.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a lead or senior role within a technical team.
- Expertise in a specific area of the migration project (e.g., IBM Sterling development, data migration, quality assurance).
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
