I&E Maintenance Technician

Brief Description:

The I&E Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, calibration, inspection, and repair of control systems equipment. The incumbent inspects meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations. The I&E Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance on equipment as needed.

Description:

Schedule: 5 days per week, 10 hours per day (Full-Time)

Work Location: Tioga, North Dakota

Licensing Information and Requirements:
Essential Job Functions:
  • Reads and interprets electrical schematics and B.O.M drawings, engineering prints/specifications, and/or verbal/written instructions
  • Responsible for laying out, machining, populating and wiring of electrical control enclosures
  • Assembles mechanical, and/or pneumatic components as required
  • Performs inspection and repairs on control systems
  • Performs preventive maintenance on all types of process instrumentation
  • Performs troubleshooting tasks to diagnose and correct instrumentation problems in the field
  • Calibrates instruments utilizing proper test equipment
  • Maintains environment to include component replacements, alignments, and calibration to specifications of record
  • Repairs signal transmission facility such as tubing, wiring, etc.
  • Installs new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load and implementation of new control logic
  • Assist with electrical cable, cable tray and equipment installation as required
  • Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, or Equivalent Required, Associates Degree Preferred
  • Three (3) years experience in the electrical instrumentation field
  • Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record required depending on location
  • Current OSHA 10 or be able to obtain upon hire
  • North Dakota locations only: Current or able to obtain a North Dakota Electrical Apprentice Certification

  • Must be able to install electrical conduit of the various trade size and install instrumentation tubing
  • Must be able to use SAP, and needs good computer skills
