A Day in the Life of a Imaging Nursing Lead

This position is responsible for expert knowledge of all Imaging Nursing operations and procedures. Acts as a lead to the Imaging nurses and offers advice, training, and clarification of job knowledge. Accountable for department workflow and promotes patient care to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

Here is What You Will Be Doing:
  • Directs staffing requirements and creates staff schedule matrix that supports patient and physician requirements to provide adequate coverage.
  • Ensures their section’s resources (staff, equipment, supplies) are utilized in a manner that optimizes effectiveness while maintaining cost containment and minimizing waste.
  • Ensures department is clean, organized, and free of clutter.
  • Keeps the clinical manager informed on all matters pertinent to the operation of the section.
  • Maintains a positive work environment by demonstrating positive interpersonal relations with co-workers, physicians, patients and others.
  • Performs and/or assists in performing procedures by following physician orders.
  • Submits orders for section supplies for daily operations and assists clinical manager in evaluating supply needs for capital budgets.
  • Leads initiatives and is accountable for all quality and safety within department.
  • Leads initiatives and is accountable for procedural and patient volume growth.
  • Leads initiatives and is accountable for patient experience.
  • Participates in call as required.
  • Facilitates, organizes, and reviews the daily workflow to deliver maximal throughput of all Imaging procedures on customers ranging in age from newborn to late adulthood
  • Maintain current procedural protocols, computer files, equipment maintenance program, and quality control data to meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates, coordinates, delegates, and assigns the daily activities of the Imaging nursing department. Leads employee annual performance evaluations as directed under the guidance of department manager and director.
  • Ensures facility technical and documentation expectations are consistent with Joint Commission regulations and CRMC standards.
Desired Skills:
  • Maintains standards on equipment for accrediting, state and/or federal agencies and ensures that all preventive maintenance occurs as scheduled and provides director/manager with information regarding all equipment failures
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, Physicians and co-workers
  • Attention to minute detail
  • Demonstrates independent critical thinking skills for daily activity and patient flow of the Imaging Nursing department
  • Positively demonstrates concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, and employees
Here is What You Need:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of a current Wyoming Registered Nurse License or enhanced Nurse Licensure (eNLC) upon start date
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an acute care setting
  • Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within 14 calendar days of start date
