Immediate Opening - Preschool Teacher - Carmichael

Positions:

*Preschool Teacher (2 - 5yrs)

Qualification:

Must have the following:

Associate Teacher: 12 ECE Units

Teacher: 24 ECE units + 16 GE units

Master Teacher: Teacher + 6 ECE units in specialization + 2 adult supervision units

OR

This can be either of the following permits:

• Regular Children’s Center Instructional Permit
• Limited Children’s Center Instructional Permit
• Emergency Children’s Center Instructional Permit
• Child Development Master Teacher Permit
• Child Development Teacher Permit
• Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (Note: This permit authorizes the holder to supervise Assistant Permit holders and an aide.)

OR

A current credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing authorizing teaching service in elementary school or a single subject credential in home economics, and 12 units in ECE and/or CD or two years’ experience in early childhood education or a child care and development program.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise children at all times, and maintain a safe environment in the classroom

- Set up age appropriate classroom material and activities.

- Maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.

- Curriculum planning and plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must clear fingerprinting, background check, health screening and TB test (All Teachers)
• Minimum of 12+ ECE units and at least 1 years classroom experience
• Pediatric First Aid and CPR certified and current (if not we can train you)
• Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices
• Ability to communicate with children, staff and parents
• Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
• Assume equal share of joint responsibilities
• Loving and nurturing personality
• Punctual, dependable, patient and flexible
• Change diapers/ Potty Train
