Job Description

Position: Import Manager – Plastic Recycling

Industry: Plastic Recycling / Manufacturing

Location: Mandhna

Reporting To: Director / Plant Head

Role Summary

The Import Manager will handle the end-to-end import process of plastic scrap, raw materials, and machinery from international suppliers. The role focuses on cost control, legal compliance, and timely delivery to ensure uninterrupted production operations.

Key Responsibilities

International Import Operations

Handle imports of plastic scrap such as PET, HDPE, LDPE, PP, etc.

Manage overseas suppliers from USA, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and other regions

Follow up on purchase orders and track international shipments

Documentation & Compliance

Prepare and verify Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading / AWB

Handle Certificate of Origin, Insurance documents, and BL amendments

Finalize HS Codes and calculate customs duties

Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs, Pollution Control Board, and MOEF regulations

Coordinate Bill of Entry filing and follow up for timely clearance

CHA & Logistics Coordination

Coordinate with Custom House Agents (CHA), freight forwarders, and shipping lines

Manage port clearance and control demurrage & detention costs

Plan container movement and delivery schedules to the plant

Cost Control & Planning

Calculate landed cost (material cost + freight + duty + other charges)

Implement duty optimization and cost reduction strategies

Manage production impact due to import delays

Internal Coordination

Coordinate with Purchase, Accounts, Stores, and Production teams

Plan inventory based on import lead time

Prepare MIS reports and import status updates for management

Required Skills & Qualifications

Qualification

Graduate (B.Com / BBA / Any discipline)

EXIM / Import-Export certification preferred

Skills

Practical knowledge of plastic scrap import regulations

Strong experience with Customs, DGFT, and port procedures

Good negotiation and professional email communication skills

Working knowledge of Excel, ERP systems, and Zoho

Experience Required

3–7 years of hands-on import experience

Background in plastic recycling or plastic raw material industry is mandatory

Should not be fully dependent on CHA; must have independent import handling capability

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

On-time clearance of import shipments

Import cost optimization

Zero or minimum customs penalties

Smooth and uninterrupted raw material availability for production

Salary Range

₹25,000 – ₹40,000 per month, depending on experience and expertise

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
