Core ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of this role involve the end-to-end processing and management of documentation for the movement of goods:
- Document Preparation: Preparing essential pre-shipment and post-shipment documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, insurance certificates, certificates of origin (COO), bills of lading (BL), shipping bills, and bills of entry.
- Customs Coordination: Liaising with Customs House Agents (CHA) and customs officials to facilitate smooth and timely customs clearance.
- Compliance: Ensuring all declarations and documentation adhere to Indian and foreign trade policies, customs rules, and relevant regulations.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinating with freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, and warehouses for booking, tracking, and timely delivery of shipments.
- Banking & Finance: Handling banking documentation, such as Letters of Credit (LC), and following up for document lodgment, payments, and realization certificates.
- Insurance: Arranging and managing cargo insurance to cover potential damage or loss during transit.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate physical and digital records of all import/export transactions and documentation for audits and reporting.
