Job Purpose:
The Import Executive (Supply Chain) will be responsible for managing and coordinating all import-related activities from purchase order issuance to final delivery. This role requires close coordination with suppliers, banks, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs authorities to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective import operations while maintaining full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage all import shipments from purchase order (PO) issuance to final delivery at the destination.
  • Draft and process Letters of Credit (LCs) and contracts in coordination with banks and suppliers.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to ensure timely shipment handling and clearance.
  • Plan and coordinate proactively to minimize demurrage and detention costs.
  • Collaborate with terminals and internal departments to enhance operational efficiency and coordinate the recovery of shortages from terminals to the factory.
  • Manage and maintain import-related Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Verify and ensure the accuracy of all import documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other shipping documents.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain LC and import documentation in compliance with both regulatory and company standards.
  • Coordinate with clearing agents for smooth and timely customs clearance.
  • Negotiate freight and logistics costs with forwarders and transporters to ensure cost efficiency and budget compliance.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports on shipment tracking, cost analysis, and lead times for management review.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field).
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in quality inspection or a relevant industry.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade procedures, shipping documentation, and customs regulations.
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and cost management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
