Job Description:

Job Purpose:

The Import/Export Manager will lead and oversee all import and export operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing logistics, and minimizing costs. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of international trade practices, customs regulations, and supply chain management.

Ensures that logistics teams adhere and comply to legal requirements/ regulations and Fugro local and global policies by 1) being a specialist in and taking responsibility for certain areas of the logistical processes and Customs, DGFT regulations, 2) carrying out independent checks on import and export documents, 3) filing structures and records to deliver updates on all logistics transactions, 4) providing guidance on Custom, DGFT regulations, 5) reviewing and unifying processes and procedures, 6) identifying efficiencies which are implemented to achieve maximum cost benefits for the Company, without detriment to quality or business needs, 7) carrying out activities in relation to new systems or processes that come along as dictated by local or global strategies, and 8) pro-actively interacting on issues relating to logistics non-compliances or regulatory changes that will impact the business. Pro-actively interacts with the Logistics staff and company management.

Key Responsibilities:

Import/Export Management:

  • Develop and implement import/export strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage the entire import/export process, from order placement to delivery, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and legal frameworks (including data privacy where relevant).
  • Oversee and mentor a team of import/export professionals (if applicable).
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other service providers.
  • Optimize shipping routes and methods to minimize costs and transit times.
  • Manage customs clearance procedures and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Monitor and analyze import/export regulations and trade agreements, keeping the company informed of any changes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, government agencies, and industry partners.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions.
  • Ensure timely payment of duties, taxes, and other fees.
  • Manage bond requirements, validity, and extensions.
  • Oversee and track GR waivers, GR, and BG closures.
  • Implement and maintain a tracking system for international purchases and import/export activities, including advance payments, GRs, BGs, and bond validity.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for import/export processes.
  • Conduct regular audits of import/export activities to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Invoice Management:

  • Oversee the processing of all company invoices, ensuring accurate recording and timely payment.
  • Monitor unposted receipts and vendor ratings, reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper invoice documentation and scanning.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
