Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Import & Export Operations Specialist with a strong background in air and ocean freight forwarding to manage the full lifecycle of international shipments. This role requires deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, complex documentation, and daily coordination with Asia-based teams.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record within high-volume, global freight forwarding environments and is bilingual in English and Mandarin. We are looking for an independent, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to operational excellence in transpacific trade.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Act as the primary contact with Customs Brokers to resolve entry discrepancies (exams, holds, documentation issues) and ensure full compliance with CBP, TSA, FMC, and other international regulations.
• Documentation Mastery: Independently audit and process complex shipping documents, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, MAWB/HAWB, Bills of Lading, and ISF/AMS filings.
• End-to-End Shipment Coordination: Oversee the complete lifecycle of air and ocean shipments, providing proactive Track & Trace updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Vendor & Carrier Management: Analyze carrier capacity and rates; coordinate with CFS, drayage, and trucking partners to minimize demurrage and storage fees.
• Process Optimization: Refine SOPs for air and ocean operations and monitor KPIs to improve transit times and cost efficiency.
• Global Collaboration: Liaise daily with overseas offices (primarily in Asia) using Mandarin for documentation, emails, and real-time troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in air and ocean freight forwarding, 3PL, or international logistics. Prior experience in a fast-paced, tier-one freight forwarding environment is highly preferred.
• Language: Bilingual in English and Mandarin (Chinese) — fluent in reading, writing, and speaking for daily communication with Asia-based partners.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of Incoterms 2020, HTS classification, Automated Manifest System (AMS), and Importer Security Filing (ISF).
• Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and experience with TMS or WMS platforms.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure scenarios to prevent logistical delays.
