Role & responsibilities :
- Oversee complete import operations including order processing, shipping coordination, customs clearance, and documentation.
- Manage relationships with Chinese OEM/ODM suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure timely and compliant deliveries.
- Prepare and review all import-related documentation (PI, LC, BL, invoices, packing lists, COO, etc.) and ensure adherence to trade regulations.
- Monitor shipment status, update internal teams, and proactively resolve any logistics or compliance issues.
- Optimize import costs by evaluating freight routes, duties, and tariffs while ensuring supply continuity.
- Maintain accurate records for all import transactions and liaise with finance for payment schedules, duty payments, and reconciliations.
- Stay current with government policies, INCOTERMS, and trade compliance norms affecting electronic imports.
- Identify and qualify new international suppliers for electronic components, accessories, and assemblies.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness and supplier reliability.
- Support vendor performance monitoring, risk assessment, and long-term partnership development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with production and sales forecasts.
- Coordinate with the R&D and Engineering teams to source components and prototypes for new product launches.
- Manage supplier readiness for pilot production and ensure timely material availability for NPI phases.
- Evaluate samples, handle technical clarifications with suppliers, and ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
- Contribute to NPI cost planning by obtaining competitive quotes and supporting early-stage vendor engagement.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electronics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in import operations and global sourcing within the electronics industry
- Proven expertise in Chinese supplier coordination, import logistics, and trade documentation.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills with attention to cost control and supplier performance.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, INCOTERMS, LC documentation, and global supply chain practices.
- Experience supporting NPI sourcing and working with engineering or product development teams.
