Job Title: Import & Export Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Import & Export Officer with 3–5 years of UAE experience. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end import and export documentation, ensure compliance with UAE customs regulations, and coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and government authorities to ensure smooth cargo movement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and manage all import and export documentation including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, BL/AWB, and delivery orders
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Customs, FTA, and relevant international trade regulations
  • Handle customs clearance processes for mainland and free-zone shipments
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, clearing agents, and transporters
  • Process documentation through UAE customs portals (e.g., Dubai Trade, Abu Dhabi Customs, Sharjah Customs)
  • Track shipments and ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Verify HS codes, customs valuation, and duty calculations
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation archives
  • Resolve customs queries, discrepancies, and clearance issues
  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, warehouse, finance) for shipment planning and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with import/export controls, restricted goods, and country-specific requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in import/export documentation in the UAE
  • Strong knowledge of UAE customs procedures, import/export laws, and trade compliance
  • Experience handling mainland and free-zone shipments
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, HS codes, and shipping terms
  • Proficient in customs systems and ERP/software ODOO, Telly etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with sea, air, and road shipments
  • Knowledge of GCC trade regulations
  • Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
  • Problem-solving and coordination skills
