In-Home Mental Health Professional - Every Other Weekend
Schedules Available: Every other weekend. Sat 8AM to Sunday 10pm.

Pay: $20 per hour for awake hours and $15 per hour for asleep hours; 1st week training pay of $15 per hour.
Description:
Integrated Community Supports (ICS) is a residential, in-home training/support program for adults living with mental, physical and/or developmental disabilities, who are on a Medicaid paid waiver. Independent Living Placement (ILP) currently has five ICS programs. Four are located in St. Paul and one is located in Minneapolis. This position is for the Saint Paul location but there maybe times you are asked to work at the Minneapolis location. The role of the ICS Mental Health Professional is to provide support and/or training for residents living in the program. Some individuals may have substance use disorders and criminal backgrounds. Primarily, the ICS professional will be meeting one on one with the residents in the program, within that client’s own apartment. There will be times when the ICS professional will take clients out into the community. The ICS professional will follow the support plan for each client. When not meeting with clients, the ICS professional will be working in the ILP office which is located inside the building and will be available for additional client needs. In the every other weekend position, staff will remain on-site for the entire duration of their shift. The staff office is an apartment that staff will sleep in. There is a bedroom where staff will sleep. Staff will sleep there in-case there are client emergencies. Staff will be available to the clients in the program during all times of the shift.
In this position, you will:
- Review Community Supports and Services Plans (SPs) and intake paperwork and utilize these documents as guides on how to work with each client
- Collaborate with clients support team members on ways to assist and care for each client
- Provide regular updates to case managers on each clients progress
- Determine which goals your client would like to accomplish and develop a plan on how to assist them in achieving these goals
- Drive clients to community outings, stores, post-office and appointments
- Provide supervision and training to clients on how to complete routine household care and maintenance
- Assist clients in researching and accessing community resources
- Asses clients risks and assist them in ways to mitigate these risks
- Skill build with clients which could include, but not limited to: teaching clients to cook, meal plan, budget, complete paperwork and manage their appointments
- Guide and prompt clients to complete their activities of daily living
- Implement strategies with clients on ways to manage their behaviors
- When not working one-on-one with clients, complete case notes/daily logs on interactions with clients
- Be available via phone/in-person for any client emergencies
- Plan, organize and coordinate program events for all the clients. Such as, plan a movie night or plan a day for a picnic at the park etc.
Expectations:
- You will be the point person for clients in the program during your scheduled weekends.
- You will be evaluated after the first 90 days and then on an annual basis. Evaluations will be completed by your direct supervisor.
- You will complete Relias and other ICS trainings within your first two weeks of employment. After that, Relias trainings will need to be completed on an annual basis.
- Any time off will need to be discussed with your Supervisor in advance so that your duties can be divided and covered during your absence.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma or GED.
- Proof of Valid Drivers license and car insurance.
- Must pass criminal background check administered by the Department of Human Services (DHS)
- Can work well with a diverse population, including people with low-income, who struggle with substance abuse, criminal backgrounds, and people with developmental, mental and physical disabilities
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Some knowledge of Microsoft office, including Word and Excel
- Ability to work well as a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services or related field
- Experience in working with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of public programs, medical assistance and Medicaid waivers
- Experience in researching and accessing different community resources
- Conversational in more than one language.
