In Home Pet Sitter

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Sitter and Dog Walker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care and attention to pets health and well being. This role involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and happiness of our furry clients while also maintaining a ”pawsitive” relationship with their owners. This job requires you to have reliable transportation (especially in the winter months) and you must be 18 years of age or older to apply. All services are completed in clients homes so candidates must be comfortable entering and spending time in clients homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide top notch pet care in the home of clients while maintaining professional etiquette and respectful care to the home and pets in your care.
• Provide basic cleaning care like scooping litter boxes or cleaning food and water bowls.
• Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and socialization.
• Monitor the behavior and health of pets during sits or walks, reporting any concerns to pet owners.
• Maintain control of dogs at all times, utilizing strength, proper handling techniques and safe leash handling skills.
• Provide basic care such as feeding, administering medication if necessary, and ensuring access to water.
• Clean up after dogs during walks to maintain a clean environment.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets behavior and needs.
• Build trust with both pets and their owners through excellent customer service.
• Ensure the safety of clients pet and home throughout duration of stay.
• Work at least 1 major holiday. Examples: (Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, New Years Eve)

Skills

• Strong knowledge of animal care, including dog handling techniques.
• or shelter settings or as a veterinary technician or assistant is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with pet owners.
• Proficient in animal restraint techniques when necessary for safety.
• Ability to assess dog and cat behavior and respond appropriately to various situations.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
• Willing to complete Pet First Aid/CPR Certifications (preference if already completed upon applying).
• Ability to lift more than 50lbs
