In-House Accountant

Job Summary

Advance Builders Group is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting for a growing South Florida skilled-trades organization. This is an in-house role for someone who understands full-cycle accounting and can keep financial records accurate, current, and organized across HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and related operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor bills, customer payments, aging, and follow-up.

Complete bank and credit-card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies promptly.

Support weekly cash reporting, payroll coordination, and accurate posting of payroll-related entries.

Maintain the general ledger and prepare month-end journal entries, schedules, and financial reports.

Track job costs, materials, labor, permits, subcontractors, and other project expenses by division or job.

Maintain vendor records, W-9s, certificates, and organized support for tax and audit requests.

Partner with operations leadership to improve controls, reporting accuracy, collections, and profitability visibility.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience; construction or home-services experience is strongly preferred.

Working knowledge of full-cycle accounting, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Strong QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel skills; experience with payroll and CRM systems is a plus.

Ability to work independently, protect confidential information, meet deadlines, and correct errors without delay.

Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

CPA license is not required.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
