In-house Lawyer – Fintech

The client is a global fintech company with offices located in Dubai.

Your new role

In this role, you will join the expanding legal function as an in-house lawyer, providing strategic advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, drafting and negotiating contracts, and supporting business functions in managing legal risk.

Your Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including technology, services, and partnership contracts
• Provide support on financial services regulatory requirements and licensing matters (ie. FSRA VARA and DFSA)
• Collaborate with internal teams on regulatory change management and implementation
• Create and maintain contract templates, playbooks, legal policies, and guidance notes
• Advise internal stakeholders on a broad range of legal issues
• Manage short, medium, and long-term legal projects with minimal supervision
• Contribute to corporate governance matters and board activities as needed
• Assist with data protection and compliance matters when required

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified in a common law jurisdiction (UK, US, Ireland, Australia, NZ, South Africa)
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within financial services
• Proven ability to engage with GCC regulators
• Proven background in fintech, trade finance, cross-border finance, commercial contracts, corporate matters and regulatory matters
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance frameworks desirable
