WHAT WE DO
Instrumentum is an innovative provider of off-site surgical instrument sterilization, transportation, storage, and loaner tray logistics, serving health systems and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). With the recent acquisitions of early market movers in this space, we are growing a national footprint with a mission to disrupt a traditionally fragmented and under digitized sterile processing industry. We are scaling rapidly to address the rising demand for elective surgeries and streamlined sterile processing services.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Sterilization Processing Departments (SPDs) are one of the most important and yet most overlooked areas of a hospital or surgery center. This is a critical and growing problem as staffing shortages, poorly maintained facilities, and failure to adhere to the standards required to ensure patient and staff safety are increasing costs and potentially putting lives at risk. Even though sterilization is central to providing surgeries, it is often an afterthought for most facilities. The people who work in the SPD know it, and the deteriorating morale of the SPD workforce is adding to the decrease in sterilization competency.
Sterilization is ALL we do. Our people are the core of our company, and we treat them accordingly – like the rockstars they are. We’ve invested heavily in our facilities, equipment, and processes, and we do it right. Every time. We hire the best, and we don’t have to look far. The best SPD technicians and coordinators love what they do, and they want to work in a place where they are valued. That place is Instrumentum.
WHAT WE NEED
A full-time Video Content Creator & Host whose primary job is to:
-
Be on camera.
-
Tell captivating stories about SPD, careers, growth, and the “behind-the-curtain” world of offsite sterilization.
-
Help the SPD community and healthcare adjacent folks learn something new about SPD and/or Instrumentum with you in every video.
You don’t need to be a sterile processing expert.
You do need to be curious, fearless on camera, and obsessed with making content that makes people say, “I want to see another one.”
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Be the face and voice of Instrumentum on social
-
Record frequent short-form videos (primarily Instagram & TikTok) that bring SPD, offsite sterilization, and healthcare careers to life.
-
Host “walk-and-talk” interviews with SPD techs, leaders, vendor reps, and occasionally surgeons—think “Good Morning America reporter who knows a little about a lot meets factory tour.”
-
Lean into the “learn with me” concept: openly admit what you don’t know, ask smart questions, and bring viewers along as you explore SPD processes, technology, and career paths.
Create social-first video content from idea to upload
-
Brainstorm and pitch content ideas weekly (e.g., day-in-the-life, myth-busting, “how it works,” facility tours, real time conference attendance and recaps, SPD career tips, etc.).
-
Script or outline your videos with support from Marketing Department and our social content writer.
-
Self-shoot content using phone and basic gear (phone, lighting, mic, tripod will be provided) to maintain authentic and organic content integrity with a goal to capture raw footage we can repurpose into multiple assets.
-
Be capable of completing all video content edits (cutting, trimming, adding captions) on your own for fast-turn content and posting.
Collaborate with Marketing to build a consistent content engine
-
Work closely with the Marketing Department to align content with our brand story, campaigns, and key messages.
-
Coordinate regularly with our social content writer so that your videos and copy support each other across all channels.
-
Maintain a content calendar for your videos—planning what gets filmed, where and when.
-
Stay on top of social media trends (especially TikTok/IG Reels/LinkedIn video) and adapt formats that make sense.
Show up where the story is happening
-
Travel to Instrumentum facilities (Boca Raton, Elmhurst, Phoenix, Long Beach, Richmond, Modesto, and new markets as they open) to film onsite content.
-
Capture content at industry conferences, trade shows, and sponsored events—walk-throughs, interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and recap videos.
-
Occasionally film with Instrumentum’s leaders for joint videos aimed at C-suite and vendor audiences.
Be a bridge
-
Build rapport with each facility location’s SPD teams so they feel comfortable on camera with you.
-
Ask thoughtful, simple questions that help them shine—your job is to draw out their expertise, not to pretend you already have it.
-
Work with internal SPD educators and quality leaders as needed to ensure you’re not misrepresenting processes or compliance, while still keeping content light, human, and appealing.
WHAT YOU WILL DELIVER / WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In your first 6–12 months, success looks like:
-
A steady drumbeat of engaging short-form videos going out weekly across TikTok and Instagram.
-
SPD techs, vendor reps, and hospital leaders starting to recognize you as “the Instrumentum person” on social.
-
Content that makes people want to engage, lean in, and learn more—about SPD careers, offsite sterilization, and how Instrumentum works. Make SPD eye catching, interesting and entertaining.
-
A repeatable, efficient workflow for planning, filming, and delivering your video content with minimal handholding.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE
On-camera storyteller
-
You’re genuinely comfortable talking to a lens and thinking on your feet.
-
You know how to hook viewers in the first 3–5 seconds and keep them watching.
-
You’ve filmed yourself for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, YouTube, or similar—even if it was for your own channel, educational projects, passion projects, or a sector outside of healthcare.
Video-first creator
-
You have experience and are excited about personally scripting, shooting, and editing for vertical, phone-produced video.
-
You understand how to frame, light, and capture clear audio and footage in real-world environments.
-
You’re comfortable working fast and iterating—done and posted beats perfect and never seen.
Curious about healthcare & operations
-
You don’t need SPD or clinical experience—but you do need to be fascinated by:
-
How systems work.
-
How people work together under pressure.
-
How better processes create better outcomes.
-
Connecting dots for others based on observations
-
You’re excited to ask questions on behalf of the audience and learn out loud.
-
You’re respectful with our SPD teams who are under constant pressure.
-
You can take a loose concept or idea and turn it into something watchable.
We’re more interested in what you can do and your video skills than where you have or haven’t been, but here’s what will help you succeed:
