In -person afterschool Math and ELA Elementary School Teacher

Job description

Ramana Learning Center is seeking an experienced In-person Math and ELA part-time teacher to teach reading/writing portions for our Elementary schoolers (1 - 5th grade) after school hours between 5:00 pm- 7:00 p.m. (Hours may vary depending upon the enrollment between 8 - 20 hr a week) We provide very consistent and flexible scheduling. Tutors can expect predictable weekly pay. We pay anywhere from $30-$35 an hour. We are looking for highly skilled, motivated, versatile, dependable, and dynamic individuals who have strong communication skills and become part of this exciting journey into the future with us.

Working Hours:

Monday-Thursday between 5:00-7:00 p.m. EST

Screening process:

Must submit a cover letter

Must demonstrate Math teaching skills via an in-person demo

Must have:

At least 5 years of experience teaching English language arts subject

Strong references

Taught Math subjects either in elementary school settings

Teacher Certification

Duties

- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in mathematics for students

- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

- Utilize effective teaching strategies to ensure student understanding and success

- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and instructional materials

- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior

- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress

- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills

Skills

- Strong behavior management skills to create a positive classroom environment

- Knowledge of childhood development principles and strategies for effective education

- Understanding of early childhood education techniques for teaching foundational math
skills

- Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment
