Position Summary
The In-Room Dining Server is responsible for delivering attentive, polished, and professional dining service to guests in the privacy of their guest rooms. This role represents The Boca Raton standards directly in the guest’s personal space and requires discretion, attention to detail, and a high level of service awareness.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong hospitality instincts, the ability to work independently, and comfort navigating guest interactions one-on-one. In-Room Dining Servers must execute service with the same care and professionalism expected in the dining room while managing timing, presentation, and guest communication autonomously.
Essential Functions
Guest Experience & In-Room Service

Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.

Greet guests warmly upon arrival, confirm the order, and present items clearly and neatly.

Set up in-room dining service according to resort standards, including tray or table placement, condiments, and service ware.

Explain menu items or accompaniments as needed and respond to guest questions with confidence.

Maintain discretion, professionalism, and awareness of guest privacy at all times.

Confirm guest satisfaction prior to departure and provide clear instructions for tray or table pickup when applicable.
Order Accuracy & Service Execution

Review orders prior to delivery to ensure accuracy, presentation, and completeness.

Coordinate with the kitchen and order takers regarding special requests, allergies, or modifications.

Monitor delivery timing and communicate delays proactively when necessary.

Retrieve used trays, tables, and service ware promptly upon guest request or scheduled pickup.
POS, Check Handling & Payment Support

Deliver guest checks and review charges when required.

Process payments accurately in accordance with resort procedures.

Coordinate with the In-Room Dining Order Taker regarding payment processing and check reconciliation.
Operational Readiness & Support

Maintain cleanliness and organization of In-Room Dining service areas, pantries, and carts.

Prepare service carts, trays, and equipment prior to service.

Perform assigned opening, running, and closing side work.

Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and handling standards.

Attend required meetings and training sessions.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall In-Room Dining operations.
Internal Relationships

Reports to In-Room Dining Management.

Works closely with Culinary, Stewarding, Order Takers, and Restaurant Leadership and Hotel Butlers.
External Relationships

Has direct interaction with hotel guests.
Qualifications

Prior hospitality or service experience preferred; luxury hotel or resort experience a plus.

Strong guest service and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail.

Ability to handle guest interactions with discretion and confidence.

Ability to transport service trays or carts safely and efficiently.
Education & Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Prior food and beverage or guest service experience preferred.

Must obtain and maintain any required licenses or certifications as applicable.

CPR and/or First Aid certification preferred.
Physical Requirements

Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
