Job Title: In-School STEM Lead Teacher

Location: Baltimore County Public Schools (Elementary)

Schedule:

• In-school
• One Week a Month (Tues-Fri)
• Tues-Thurs - 8:45-11:45 and 12:45-3:45
• Friday Hours (once a month) 8:45-12:15

Position Overview:
We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to conduct one-hour in-school classes for elementary-aged students. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about education and making a difference in students’ lives.

Responsibilities:

• Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure student safety during sessions.
• Set up and break down classroom materials and equipment before and after classes. (this adds an additional 30 minutes per day)
• Communicate effectively with school leadership, parents, students, and Whiz Kid Academy staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children in an educational setting (teaching, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Passion for STEM education and working with young learners.
• Availability to work consistently within the required schedule.
• Reliable transportation to and from program sites.

Preferred:

• Prior teaching or childcare experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (or working toward one) in Education, STEM fields, or a related area.

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including standing, sitting, lifting up to 15 pounds (supplies/materials), and interacting with students and staff.

Work Environment:

Primarily, it will be a classroom and school environment, with occasional extracurricular and community events involvement.

Transportation Requirement

You must have a personal car/vehicle for this role.
