Independent Living trainer/coach

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in direct support and a passion for working with individuals with disabilities, including autism. This role involves developing and implementing training programs that enhance the skills of staff members, ensuring they provide high-quality care and support to clients. The Trainer will also focus on behavior management techniques and effective communication strategies to foster a positive environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training programs tailored to the needs of staff working with individuals with disabilities.
• Provide direct support during training sessions, ensuring participants understand key concepts.
• Collect data on training effectiveness and participant progress to inform future training initiatives.
• Implement behavior management strategies that promote positive outcomes for clients.
• Administer medication training as required, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Support home community care practices through effective training methodologies.
• Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to integrate best practices into training programs.
• Communicate regularly with team members to assess ongoing training needs and adjust programs accordingly.

Skills

• Strong background in direct support, particularly for individuals with disabilities.
• Experience in data collection and analysis related to training effectiveness.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques applicable in various settings.
• Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
• Ability to administer medication safely and train others in proper procedures.
• Experience in home community care settings is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and engage participants.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that promotes learning and growth for all individuals involved.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
