As our next Indirect Buyer, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting Johnson Electric’s operations by managing indirect procurement functions for the Vandalia, OH plant and other regional sites. Your expertise in sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and cost control will ensure efficient service, best value, and smooth operational continuity across a variety of indirect categories.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Manage sourcing and supplier selection for indirect goods and services
• Analyze proposals, negotiate terms, and issue purchase orders per SOPs
• Track PO fulfillment and receipt of goods in the ERP system
• Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities
• Support contract reviews, reporting, and performance tracking of suppliers
• Communicate with users to clarify specifications and manage expectations
• Educate stakeholders on procurement SOPs and ensure compliance
• Provide cross-regional support and respond to urgent material/service needs
• Generate reports for expenses, cost savings, and overdue orders

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil) or Business
• 2–5 years of experience in indirect procurement, MRO, or purchasing
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to read engineering drawings and manage complex indirect categories
• High sense of urgency and strong decision-making capabilities

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience working with indirect procurement systems and SOPs
• Understanding of tax, regulatory, and logistical considerations for services and materials
• Knowledge of contract terms and commercial evaluation strategies
• Comfort working across languages, regions, and cultures
