Indirect Tax Assistant Manager

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Indirect Tax Assistant Manager (AM) located in, Islamabad, Pak.

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical & Advisory: The Assistant Manager will be required to analyse different transactions to assess indirect tax implications, provide advisory support on complex indirect taxes matters and draft written tax advice.
  • · Compliance & Reporting: The Assistant Manager will be required to manage a vast portfolio of client. They should be able to prepare and/or review VAT returns, reconciliations, related filings, VAT registration applications, VAT deregistration applications, amendment applications and refund applications.
  • · VAT Health Check: The Assistant Manager will be required to conduct detailed VAT Health Check assessments for various clients and prepare the VAT Health Check report to document findings, analysis and recommendations.
  • · Audits & Assessments: The Assistant Manager will be required to support the client during Tax Authority audits and assessments. They will be required to review the clients’ schedules and prepare appropriate response for Tax Authorities.
  • · Client / Stakeholder Management: The Assistant Manager will be required to act as a key point of contact for their portfolio of clients. They will be required to communicate any issues and update all matters to the Tax Director and Managing director as deemed necessary.
  • · Team Leadership & Development: The Assistant Manager will be required tosupervise, coach, and review work performed by junior team members and provide on-the-job technical training and guidance.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in VAT-specific roles
  • Background in VAT e.g. VAT or similar indirect tax roles inside or outside UAE
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field such as ACCA or CA Finalist.

Additional requirement:

  • UAE VAT certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of middle east region like VAT in KSA, Oman, Bahrain etc will be an added advantage
  • Ability to understand or speak Arabic will be an added advantage
