Result of Service
Delivery of timely HR deliverables including terms of reference, longlist and shortlists, interview scheduling and tracking of new hires. Timely support to inters and well managed records including personnel files etc. Delivery of reporting support and events coordination as needed and well managed office equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
The position is located in the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (UNODET). UNODET was established on 1 January 2025, with a mandate to: (a) advise the senior leadership of the United Nations on key trends in technology, so as to guide the strategic approach taken by the Organization on such issues; (b) serve as advocate and focal point for digital cooperation, through engagement with Member States, the technology industry, civil society and other stakeholders; (c) facilitate multi-stakeholder policy dialogue on digital and emerging technologies; (d) strengthen system-wide coordination within and across the United Nations system on digital and emerging technologies; (e) support the follow-up and implementation of the Global Digital Compact (A/RES/79/1 Annex 1). Through the Under-Secretary-General and Special Envoy for Digital and Emerging Technologies, UNODET also leads the implementation of the Secretary-General's vision on digital cooperation by working closely with various UN entities and multi-stakeholder groups, facilitating dialogue to accelerate global digital cooperation, seizing on the opportunities that are presented by technology – while mitigating the risks – so that progress towards achieving the Goals by 2030 can be made collectively, as well as carrying out other related duties and responsibilities assigned by the Secretary-General, including follow up actions from the Secretary-General's Roadmap for Digital Cooperation and the report "Our Common Agenda". The Individual Contractor will report to the Assistant Programme Management Officer; the Individual Contractor will support the following areas: - Recruitment Support: Assist in drafting job descriptions, vacancy announcements, and terms of reference; support publication and dissemination across relevant platforms. - Selection Processes: Support the administration of recruitment, including longlisting/shortlisting, scheduling interviews, preparing interview materials, and compiling evaluation documentation. - Internship Focal Point: Manage end-to-end internship processes, including announcements, recruitment, and exit interviews. - Records Management: Work with programme management to maintain and update personnel files, consultant rosters. - Contract Administration: Support the preparation, review, and processing of consultancy contracts, extensions, and payment documentation. - Coordination: Liaise with HR focal points to ensure timely processing of HR actions and compliance with organizational rules and regulations. - Reporting Support: Provide support in the preparation and compilation of reporting related to grants and programme activities, including gathering inputs, organizing documentation, and assisting with formatting and submission in line with UN processes. - Events Coordination: Support the planning and coordination of programme-related events, workshops, and meetings, including logistical preparations, coordination with internal teams and external participants, and preparation of materials. Provide on-site or day-of support to ensure the smooth implementation of events. - Office Equipment / IT Coordination: Support the coordination of office IT equipment and access, including laptops, email accounts, and system access. Assist with equipment requests, onboarding and offboarding needs, and liaise with relevant IT focal points to ensure staff have the necessary tools and access for their work.
Qualifications/special skills
University degree (Bachelors’ degree or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Social Sciences, or similar. Two years of experience supporting administrative functions, such as human resources, is required. Experience in the United Nations or another multilateral organization, is required. Demonstrated experience reviewing resumes for long/short-listing, is desired. Demonstrated experience drafting terms of reference, is desired
Languages
Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
