Every successful start-up you lead increases uptime, quality, and safety for manufacturers. You’ll travel throughout the Northeast—often with multi-night stays—and at times across North America, equipped with company-provided tools and a vehicle. You’ll interpret blueprints and schematics, validate tolerances, and train teams so they can run with confidence.

Core responsibilities

  • Install and start up company-manufactured unloading equipment and custom automation to spec.
  • Verify erection/installation against guidelines; ensure mechanical/electrical tolerances are met.
  • Diagnose and correct electrical/mechanical issues; test, adjust, and confirm performance.
  • Use gauges, meters, and other test gear to validate against specifications.
  • Provide remote support (phone/email); document issues and collaborate internally to resolve product concerns.
  • Deliver operator and maintenance training for customer employees.
  • Complete all documentation, service reports, and records.
  • Confirm installation acceptance to activate warranties.
  • Handle additional duties and special assignments as needed.

What sets you up for success

  • High school diploma or GED; 3–5 years of technical field service/automation/robotics experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to don PPE such as safety glasses and steel-toed footwear when required.
  • Read/interpret blueprints, specs, warranties, standards, and O&M manuals; write clear reports; communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Math skills across whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Comfort solving practical problems with limited standardization; interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
  • Operate hand/power tools and electronic testing equipment; work from blueprints/schematics; travel frequently, including occasional international trips.
  • Use standard office equipment (computer, telephone, fax, copier).

Compensation & benefits

  • Full-time / 1st Shift
  • Monday to Friday; Overtime available
  • Starting at $20.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience/qualifications)

Primary locations

  • SAI office location - 860A Waterman Avenue; East Providence, RI

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places. The position is a travel-based position with visits to customers and work sites in the field. The employee regularly performs work-related travel, which may include travel outside of the country.
