Industrial Designer - VR Hardware Studio

Meta’s Reality Labs team is shaping the future of consumer electronics in the emerging Augmented and Virtual Reality industries. As an Industrial Designer on the Reality Labs team, you will help bring next generation hardware and experiences to life. You bring strategic problem solving and industry leading hands-on design skills to create delightful, holistically considered products. You have a passion for designing and shipping consumer electronics products and excel working collaboratively with cross-discipline teams.


Industrial Designer - VR Hardware Studio Responsibilities:

  • Design category-defining products, helping Meta change the world through design
  • Help create the visual and physical language of our brand through the design of our hardware
  • Utilize user-centric thinking and aesthetic sensibility to align our brand to customer needs
  • Work with multiple cross-functional teams to solve complex technical programs in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Conceive elegant, effective ways to address ergonomic and mechanical challenges for head-worn and handheld products and accessories
  • Contribute concepts and problem solving across one or more projects



Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience as an Industrial Designer, developing consumer electronics or wearable tech products
  • Experience exploring and refining ideas through 2D visualization and physical prototyping
  • Experience in 3D CAD modeling - working knowledge of surfacing in Rhino 3D, Solidworks, Creo or NX
  • Experience with technical problem solving, human factors and ergonomics
  • Possess communication, visualization, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated track record of working on highly ambiguous product problems

$111,000/year to $131,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
